Lots going on in fifth grade as the year is winding down. I can't believe how quickly this year has flown by!
Reading: students have picked an author to study. They should be reading 2-3 books by that author by June 2nd, taking notes in a packet, and completing a project of their choice about their author (due June 2)
Writing: Students are writing a book all about Westward Expansion
Math: We are starting a new unit (our last one!). Unit 7 is all about division and decimals.
Science: We are beginning our last science rotation of the year! Students will be taking Solar Energy with Ms. Appleby.
DARE: Officer Kevin has 2 more sessions with students. All students must write a 5 paragraph essay about DARE. They are working on this in school.
Play practice: All students are involved in the 5th grade in some way. We have actors, dancers, props/scenery, program, technology, and lots of jobs for students to be involved in! All students are a part of the chorus.
